In our 9th Episode, we continue the discussion on Access and Inclusion in Irish Theatre.

#AccessAndInclusion. Dr Kate McCarthy and Dr Una Kealy, both lecturers in the department of Creative and Performance Art in Waterford Institute of Technology join us to discuss their process of mapping Inclusion in theatre practice. Internationally recognised artist Amanda Coogan has worked across media in live art, performance, photography and video and is well known for her work with Dublin Theatre of the Deaf, as well as a sign language interpreter for the Gate Theatre and the Abbey Theatre. Finally, we turned over “The Last Word” to 17-year old theatre maker Noon Abubakar, a member of Wexford Youth Theatre. Our #ArtInIsolation focus is on Mark Smith, a performer with downs syndrome who was nominated for Best Actor at the 2019 Dublin Fringe Festival. Our #FinalPoeticThought is delivered by Shane Byrne of Equinox Theatre company.
